You can help others by joining in on #GoodshopSunday

*My family is huge on helping others. I am really excited to spread the word about Goodshop Sunday and how you can help others while shopping.

One of the biggest things I have been trying to implement is teaching my children about helping others. During the Holiday Season there are so many families out there in need and I want my kids to understand about giving and not always receiving.

One of the easiest ways is to find a local organization in our community that is hosting a drive, like toys, food or clothes. I have found quite a few in our small town and already have been giving to them. Next week we will be joining a toy drive where I will have my kids give gifts for our community toy drive.

There are tons of other ways to help too! Especially for us that shop for holiday gifts online! From Black Friday to Cyber Monday, some may not know about Goodshop Sunday! Goodshop Sunday is on November 30th and is the day where thousands of merchants will be offering great deals and coupons AND donating a percentage of nearly every purchase back to the shopper’s favorite nonprofit or school!!

Leading up to the day, thousands of stores (including Amazon, Old Navy, Target, and Kohl’s) will have the best coupons and deals listed on and will donate a percentage of nearly every purchase to the users’ favorite cause – for free! In addition, on Goodshop Sunday, select retailers are offering double donations, while others are sharing exclusive deals– so people can feel extra good about their holiday shopping!

By visiting Goodshop you can find a whole list of retailers along with the percentages of donations back!

For me, one of the biggest online shops I use during the Holidays is Amazon. So I clicked on Amazon to check out their deals and also the donations given back. Amazon for me is a one stop shop so I look there first to see what deals I can find.

Plus, while there will be special deals on Goodshop Sunday, shoppers can find deals and donations all year long. Goodshop helps shoppers save more than just money!

Here are some deals:

Amazon Coupon – Free shipping on purchases over $35 (1.5% donation)

Sephora Coupon – Choose 1 of 3 Holiday Deluxe Sample Bags with any $25 purchase with code (2.5% donation)

Sears Coupon – Get extra $5 off orders of $50 or more with code (2% donation)

Best Buy Coupon – Free shipping on orders $35+ (3% donation)

Join the cause by taking the #GoodshopSunday pledge – to buy 1 gift that gives back this holiday season!  Take a photo of yourself forming the “hand heart” and share it across social media using the hashtag #GoodshopSunday— This is a visual confirmation of your pledge and the promise that holiday shopping can make a difference.

  1. I am hoping to instill the tradition of helping another family by purchasing gifts on their wish list. This year, we look forward to using USPS’s Operation Santa program. I also like the programs above.

  2. its so good to see big companies (and little ones) giving back! Especially after big weekends like black friday

  3. This is great! Our office makes it convenient for us to give back, too, by supporting a local family in a shelter. Giving back is so important every year during this season of abundance!

  4. This is a really great idea. I didn’t know about this. I already planned on purchasing things from Amazon and Best Buy, so this would be a really easy way to funnel some money toward something good.

  5. I missed it this year but I’ve never heard of it. I’ll do my weekend shopping on Sunday next year.

  6. It’s so nice to establish a tradition of helping during the holiday season. I love that retailers are joining a good cause.

  7. I’ve never heard of this and obviously I missed it this year, but I do agree with you about the importance of giving.

  8. Wow! I had never heard of this! I like this because I can shop for my loved ones and give back to those in need at the same time.

  9. This is a good program. I remember a program I was in as a child called a good deed a day. We had a booklet and each day you had to write down one good deed. It made me think of other people rather than myself.

  10. This is a great idea, shopping on Thanksgiving and Black Friday has gotten so out of control. It would be nice if more people participated in something like Good Shop Sunday!

  11. why do i always miss all the great sales. I get stuck at every red light. I always get gum on my shoe and at the end of the day i ALWAYS miss the sales.. lol
