Winter Craft Idea: Holiday Painted Pine Cones
Last week the girls and I went for a walk and collected pine cones. We decided to paint them all festive for the Holidays and then sprinkled glitter all over them!
I recommend that you have your kids paint their pine cones in the inside of a box or lid. This way when they sprinkle them with glitter the glitter stays inside the box and not all over your kitchen/dining room. They you cna leave your pine cones to dry in the box and once they are dry you can then shake off the extra glitter. The box/lid is very important!
I left the girls pine cones to sit outside all week so they would be completely dry and I shook the extra glitter off while outside as well.
I definitely recommend having your kids wear aprons, I stopped the girls after I took the picture below because Sam splattered paint all over her shirt.
oh and another tip is that you can leave the paint inside the box/lid in case of spillage or if you have a toddler they don’t know how to “clean” their brush so paint gets everywhere! You cna tell by my pictures below.
They came out beautiful!

Pretty neat!! Thanks! We don’t have pine cones here, but my mom does!
What a super cute idea!!! I think the pinecones are beautiful! They would make great gifts for Grandmas!!!!
This is so creative! My kids would love doing a project like this. I have two girls as well, and anything that is artistic and decorative is something they would jump at. Thanks for the great idea!
