Walmart’s Thanksgiving Meal for Eight – $20 *Giveaway*

This November, Walmart wants to make sure all Americans have the opportunity to create lasting memories with their families by offering a Thanksgiving Meal for Eight for as low as $20, featuring all of the fixings for an unforgettable Thanksgiving meal.

The meal includes one 12-pound Grade-A turkey, three cans of vegetables, three boxes of stuffing mix, one 5-pound bag of red potatoes, two cans of cranberry sauce, one package of dinner rolls, and a pumpkin roll cake for dessert.

And for those less confident in the kitchen, Food Network star Melissa d’Arabian has created tasty twists on traditional holiday dishes using the ingredients found in the Thanksgiving basket.

I think that this is a fabulous promotion Walmart is doing. So many families (including mine) find it hard to spend a fortune on food for meals yet we still want to have a wonderful and memorable Holiday Season. I can not wait to head to Walmart and pick up my Thanksgiving Basket!

Savings doesn’t have to stop at food. You can save money on other things too, like Holiday Gifts. Like most families we are trying to figure out how to give the kids a fabulous holiday and not spend a fortune! One of the biggest money savers is having kids make their own gifts for family, friends and even their teacher(s).

One idea is making the adorable No-Sew Sachets from FamilyFun. These make great gifts for Grandma, Mom, even your female Teacher. They cna use these cute handmade sachets for their undie drawer, setting out on a table, bathroom. Well anywhere they want to really. We are making these for Sam’s teacher and for Grandma.

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Walmart. In addition, I received a Walmart gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate and two to offer as a giveaway.”

TWO winners will each receive a $30 dollar Gift Card to Walmart.

  58. Melanie Pace says:

We do not buy gifts for anyone except our children. At our parents house we play dirty santa, and have loads of fun. This year we have decided to buy a Wii for the household instead of cheaper individual gifts. And as always I will fill the stockings with all kinds of goodies. As far as food, we do go all out, but a menu and shopping list keeps me focused on the necesities.

  59. I came up with a way to make a gift inexpensive and a little more special by creating our own “Pay It Forward Craft Kits” with a letter in each one to give to family and friends. This was not only inexpensive but lots of fun. For example I have a family member that sews quilts so this year I found some great fabric on sale for 99cents a yard so I bought 4 matching color themes and matching thread. Then I copied a quilt pattern from a book a friend had and cut all the pieces of fabric. I put the pattern and all the cut fabric, batten and thread in a box with a Christmas note that read something like this
    “Happy Holiday”
    “Pay It Forward Craft Box”
I hope you find this as much fun as we did creating it. Enclosed you will find the craft instructions and all the items to create your master piece. The idea behind the “Pay It Forward Craft Box” is to provide you with everything you need to complete the project at no cost to you. This is a gift from us to you so that when the project is finished you can pay it forward by giving it as a gift to a friend , family or someone in need for next years holiday season.

This particular box cost us a total of $10.00 and next year some one will receive a beautiful quilt for the holidays. I also collected Ribbon and Wall Paper during the summer while shopping yard sales. I found a whole box of Wall Paper with about 10 double rolls that had a gold leaf pattern that cost me only $2 and with some red ribbon it made a gorgeous wrapped gift box. I have enough to make tons of fancy packages for the Holidays. My family has made 3 of these craft box’s for gifts so far and we have 12 more to go. It’s really fun for the whole family and won’t break the bank. Thanks for Sharing this fun giveaway :)
