Use the Ninja Cooking System with your Thanksgiving leftovers
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, you may be starting to wonder what you’re going to do with all of that leftover turkey! The Ninja Team has developed some great recipes for the Ninja to recreate some delicious dishes using those leftovers.
Herb Infused Turkey Breast
PREP: 20 min COOK: 60 minutes SERVE: 6-8
A healthier holiday can include serving turkey breast as your entrée. Preparing the breast in an herb and vegetable infused broth adds juiciness and delicious flavors to your meal.
Ingredients:
- 1 5-6 pound turkey breast
- 3 carrots, peeled and cut into ½ inch disks
- 1 onion, peeled and chopped
- 2 ribs celery, cut into ½ inch slices
- Kosher salt and pepper
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 5 sprigs fresh thyme
- 3 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 1 lemon, juiced
- ½ teaspoon chili powder (optional)
Directions:
1. Set pot to STOVETOP HIGH and heat pot for 5 minutes. Add turkey breast to the pot with the carrots, onion and celery. Season with salt and pepper and brown turkey breast on both sides, stirring vegetables occasionally, about 10 minutes on each side.
2. Add chicken broth, thyme and rosemary sprigs and squeeze lemon over breast (straining seeds). Sprinkle chili powder over breast (optional).
3. Cover and Set to 375*F for 1 hour or until breast is cooked through.
4. Remove turkey, slice breast and serve with vegetables and jus.
One Pot Turkey Marsala
PREP: 5 min COOK: 25 min SERVE: 8-10
A delicious leftover meal that takes only 30 minutes to prepare! All the ingredients go into the pot, including the spaghetti—no draining required.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 12 ounces mushrooms
- 1 small yellow onion, sliced
- 4 cups water
- 1 pound spaghetti
- ¾ cup chicken broth
- 1 cup Marsala wine
- 1 ½ tablespoons flour
- 2 cups cooked, shredded turkey
- Kosher salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
Directions:
1. Set to STOVETOP HIGH and heat oil. Add mushrooms and onions and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2. Add water, spaghetti, chicken broth and Marsala wine. Cover and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Whisk in flour, add turkey and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until desired doneness. Season with salt and pepper and garnish with parsley.
