Together Counts – Take the Pledge

Earlier this year, Bumble Bee Foods met with the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation, and they have some exciting updates and programs for 2012. Bumble Bee is a founding member of the national initiative formed to help reduce obesity, particularly childhood obesity, by 2015.

In years past, the HWCF had two core programs: Energy Balance 101, which, in partnership with Discovery Education, provided curriculum and resources to schools in order to help kids lead healthier more active lifestyles; and Together Counts, which encouraged families to become more active and healthier together.

However, in 2012, the HWCF merged the two programs under the Together Counts umbrella., now provides free resources and curriculum for school and home, as well as local community resources. Together Counts is a nationwide program inspiring active and healthy living. The principle behind our program is Energy Balance, which means balancing the calories we consume with the calories we burn. Calories in, calories out. It’s that simple.

To date, the free curriculum has been utilized by more than 100,000 teachers, reaching 2.5 million kids.

Head on over to and  take the pledge with your own family.

  1. As a society, we definitely need to get it together and focus more on eating cleaner, exercising on a regular basis and living a life that will keep us around longer!

  2. I need to really do this we eat so many prepackaged foods and easy thing because my kids are so picky(my fault) I need to really get everyone on a better diet!
