The DivaCup

I know, your probably thinking “Why is she talking about a product for your period?”  Well, because this is an end all product, one I wish I would have gotten a long time ago!

I am one of those lucky women who have a period about once a year. Well I guess you can say lucky unless your trying to conceive of course. Since my miscarriage I have been taking different hormones that have been regulating my cycles and getting it back to normal to make conceiving possible. This also means I’ll be having a “normal” cycle and the dreaded buying a bunch of tampons.

Then I was told about trying out The DivaCup. The DivaCup is a reusable silicone menstrual cup that is convenient, reliable, environmentally responsible, and economically smart. Latex-free, plastic-free and BPA-free, it can safely be worn for up to 12 hours at a time.

The DivaCup comes in two sizes. Model #1 if you are under 30 AND have never delivered vaginally or by c-section. Model #2 is for women over 30 OR have delivered vaginally or by c-section. Since I have had two babies I have model #2.

I’ll admit I am an o.b user. I have used them for years, and have always trusted the brand and product, plus it being eco friendly, they didn’t leave fibers behind and I never leaked they were my favorite brand. I say were because now with the DivaCup I wont be going back.

The DivaCup costs around $35 dollars but is good for an entire year! Think about it, you probably spend almost that per cycle on tampons and pads right? It’s very easy to insert, just follow the instructions and once you need to dump it out it’s easy to clean and put back in. When your not on your menstrual you can tuck it away in it’s cute little travel pouch.  You can use it for any type of flow as well, yes, even if you have a heavy flow you just dump it out more often. This is one of those products that any women who has a menstrual cycle should look into. Not only is it eco friendly, but you can reuse it each month, you save money and you don’t have to worry about putting those chemicals in tampons up your ho-ha!

No more tampons for me!

OK..I am 50 and have never heard of this. I admit it sounded kind of icky, but then thought of diaphrgams for B.C. Sounds almost like this. I dont if I would be one to use this but will pass the info on to my daughters.

Actually it’s not icky at all. As long as you do it right you wont get any of it on you or your hands. It’s not placed way up there either, just far enough that you cna grab the bottom like you would a tampon string.

I actually have heard of these & think they would also be alot better for you then tampons, plus being more hygenic.
    Great review!

Another thing. If you’re trying to conceive. After you… ya know put it up there to hold it all in place!!! Sleep like that and then take it out in the morning. It helps if you… ya know right before going to bed so you’re laying down.
LOTS of women SWEAR by doing this and swear they tried for months, then did this and got pregnant right away!

Honestly, I think tampons are more icky, they get stuff on you most of the time.
