Tech Dad: JVC Everio G Series *Giveaway*
Since my older daughter sam was born I always wanted a video camera. I have always wanted to be able to video my daughter, from the first smile, to sitting up for the first time, to walking. I have used small handheld video cameras, the camera from my digital camera to my cell phone, but none of them can compare to the quality of the JVC Everio Video Camera. That is what I love about the JVC Everio G Series.
For 2009, what the Everio line offers is choice – in storage medium, color and sharing. The line includes hard disk drive (HDD) models, memory camcorders, and for the first time dual memory models, including standard and high definition dual SD memory card camcorders, the world’s first dual card slot models. There’s also a standard definition model that combines SD card recording with internal flash memory.
In standard definition, there are three new Everio G series models – the 60GB GZ-MG630, the 80GB GZ-MG670 and the 120GB GZ-MG680. The Everio S series of memory camcorders includes two models – the GZ-MS120, with dual SD card slots, and the GZ-MS130, with an SD card slot and 16GB of internal flash memory. All dual memory models offer continuous recording.
Super slim, lightweight design Everio has been redesigned to offer more satisfaction in a smaller, lighter body. It’s one of the world’s smallest and lightest hard disk camcorders, so you can shoot actively without fatigue, and travel with lots of space left over when you pack your bags.
Digital Still Images
Every Everio can conveniently record digital still images. Just switch to the image mode and then press the snapshot button. Record your snapshot to either the HDD or a micro SD card. It’s your choice. The snapshot will record up to 832 x 624.
Stylish Color Variations
New Everio Hybrid Cameras are available in four colors: DIAMOND Silver, SAPPHIRE Blue, RUBY Red, and ONYX black. Choose the one that best matches to your style or preference. (Available body colors differ by model)
40x Dynamic Zoom
The Dynamic Zoom function uses nearly all of the effective pixels of the CCD to achieve incredible zoom magnification of up to 40x without any degradation of optical picture quality.
Auto Power ON/OFF & Auto Lens Cover
With Everio, you don’t have to use the power switch each time you operate because the power is linked to the LCD’s opening and closing. Just open the LCD; the power turns on and the lens cover automatically opens. Just close the LCD to power off and close the lens cover too.
New Laser Touch Operation
An evolved version of our previous Laser Touch Operation, this system now allows Zooming and Recording using either the Laser Touch or standard zoom lever and REC button. Of course, browsing through indexes and menu selections is easy as ever.

after looking at jvc’s site, i would love to have one of these Transportable HD Radio. we used to have sirius, and it was a nice break from the norm. so something similar but no monthly fee would be awesome.

The 40x zoom is great. You can stay back a good distance so the kids don’t even know you’re taping, and still capture all their antics in perfect detail.
