Summer Travels: SeaWorld San Antonio

IMG_1214

While planning our Texas trip we wanted to also visit some amusement parks and check out what the surrounding area of Austin has to offer.

we couldn’t wait to surprise the girls with a visit to SeaWorld San Antonio. We knew it would be hoot so we let the kids wear their swim suits, and trust me you want to, because you are going to want to get wet in this heat!

The first thing we did was get a park map, and on the back will tell you that days show schedule.

We then headed right to Journey to Atlantis. Hubby and the girls had fun getting wet!

Journey to Atlantis also offers a “Splash Zone” where you can stand on the patio and when the car comes down you get sprayed with water! Yes, it is fun and you have to do it!

I had waited in line for 20 minutes but the ride broke down, which was good in a way because we made it just in time to see  Azul® located at the Beluga Stadium.

Come be amazed by the magical partnership of beautiful beluga whales, exotic Pacific white-sided dolphins, colorful birds and acrobatic performers. Sail away on a journey beyond reality to a place where creatures of the sea and sky meet in an incredible celebration of nature’s mysteries.

In all honesty I had no idea what to expect with the show, and it is beautiful! I highly recommend that you see this show!

From trainers playing with the Beluga Whales and dolphins, swimming with them, and then seeing some amazing acrobatics, It was such a nice show with the actors and having the animals be apart of the show in a way where they weren’t “over-using” them.

There was humor to the show as well, See the guy in “regular clothes”? He made us laugh with his jokes and gestures. He tried to copy the acrobats but instead would fall, or do something to make the crowd laugh.

After the Azul show we decided to head over to see the Penguin Encounter! We all enjoyed seeing the Penguins and enjoyed the nice A/C.

We enjoyed the food, drinks, arcade and had so much fun!

Sea World

We saw some alligators & Turtles, rode the Steel Eel and The Great White

We visited the Animal Connections Conservation Center. It was neat seeing different reptiles, and hearing stories of the animals who were rescued.

Other rides that are a blast are the Steel Eel and The Great White. Sarah was not tall enough for The Great White, but she loved the Steel Eel.

The Steel Eel: One of only two hypercoasters operated by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, the ride features a vertical drop of 15 stories followed by a series of camelbacks that provide periods of weightlessness. Has a height minimum of 48 inches

The Great White: Challenge yourself to the 360-degree flips and experience thrills on the grand-daddy of all SeaWorld® San Antonio coasters. Race along at nearly 50 mph on a floorless run of breathtaking loops, corkscrews and thrilling curves. Has a height minimum of 54 inches

Rio Loco: Cool down in the spray of your circular raft as it bobs and bounces through the unexpected twists, turns and drop-offs on this truly “crazy river.”  What’s loco you ask? You’ll find out when you experience more than a little spray as you near the waterfall!  Has a height minimum of 42 inches

We finished the day with seeing One Ocean®. One Ocean is the all-new Shamu show. The energy and spirit of the ocean envelops you in a multi-sensory celebration of life underneath the sea that entertains as it educates and inspires. Majestic killer whales join you on a journey into a world that drenches your senses in vivid colors, vitality and global rhythms of the ocean. Dancing fountains set the stage as you connect with thrilling sea creatures and realize we are all part of one world, one ocean.

The Sesame Street Bay of Play is perfect for the toddlers and little kids, with tons of fun and an attraction for families featuring Elmo, Big Bird and all their friends. Sesame Street Bay of Play includes 3 acres of exciting rides, shows and play areas.

Overall our trip was a blast, we did not get to see the Dolphin Cove, or the Sharks/Coral Reef. We ran out of time with the park closing at 6 pm. Next time we will head to see them first!

*I received Media Tickets in exchange for my review.
