Sisters

To My Sister

I’m blessed to call you sister
I also call you friend;
You’ve loved me unconditionally,
And stood through thick and thin.

You’ve shared my joys and sorrows,
My laughter and my tears.
You’ve been my inspiration,
As we grew up through the years.

When we were little children
We laughed and played together;
Then growing up you stood by me,
Through good and stormy weather.

There’s something God has given us,
That’s more than family;
He’s placed a love for you, my Sister,
Deep down in the heart of me.

  1. My sister Chris is the most amazing woman and is my best friend in the world. We live too far apart but keep in constant contact with the phone. I love your poem 🙂

  2. What a beautiful poem! Thank you for sharing. 🙂 Here’s a quote that your verses reminded me of:

    A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost. ~Marion C. Garretty

  3. That’s beautiful. 🙂 Although I don’t have a biological sister, I’ve known my best friend since the second grade and she’s very much like a sister to me. We’ve stuck together through tough times and I’d trust her with my life. She’s family, and I couldn’t ask for a better “sister” in the world!

  4. This is so sweet! I have 3 sisters and know how special that bond is. Your girls are lucky to have each other for cousins too. 🙂
