Shelby’s 24 week ultrasound- Anatomy Scan

On Tuesday I had my anatomy scan with the Perinatal Specialist. When the tech came in she did the scan so fast my head was spinning trying to keep track of what she saw and what she was measuring. Shelby is measuring around 1 pound 4 ozs and all her measurements are in normal range for 24 weeks.

Every day her kicks become stronger and stronger and she has times where she is very active. I also had a midwife appt. following the anatomy scan and I ended up loosing 6.5 lbs in 2 weeks. My midwife is not concerned at all as I am eating much healthier than before pregnancy.  My next appt is in 3 weeks and then in 2 weeks I get to take the glucose test. But I get to do an alternative and eat a set breakfast. No nasty orange drink for me!

Pregnancy Week 24: All About Baby

In your 24th week of pregnancy, your baby is filling out. Part of your weight gain goes straight to helping him gain weight, too. Since he’s still on the scrawny side, his skin wrinkles on his body, but he looks like a miniature version of what you’ll see on delivery day. His face has formed, ears are in place, and eyes are complete (although his lids are still closed). He has eyelashes, fingernails, and may be growing hair. Rapid eye movements (REM) are beginning, too.

How Big Is Baby?

This week your baby weighs around 1 1/2 pounds and measures almost 11 to 12 inches (crown to heel).

  1. Congratulations to you! Great picture! I have 2 sons with autism, and I would love for them to have a leappad!!

  2. Congrats! Glad to hear that losing that weight in the middle of the pregnancy isn’t a big deal! I had no idea that happened! LOL.

  3. It absolutely amazes me what they can tell with prenatal tests these days. In my day, we were trying to see if all the parts were there and see the heartbeat.

God bless you and your wee babe.

Happy Thanksgiving from Harvest Lane Cottage!

  4. Oh, I’m jealous, no nasty orange drink! My midwives do the glucose test in their office at my regular appointment, so I’m wondering if maybe they do this alternate test, too. We’ll talk about it at my next appointment.
