Question to Bloggers: Wife Swap?

Ok, so I have a confession… I love watching Wife Swap! But I always think, if I were to go on wife swap.. or any mom blogger at that went on Wife Swap do you think the other “wife” would be able to handle being a blogger? For me, I work two jobs and run my blog full time.  In all honesty, I don’t think someone else could handle my busy life and keep my blog running, reply to emails and keep people happy, not to mention keep my house spotless!

If you run reviews and giveaways on your blog do you think she could do the job like you do?

hmmm…… have you applied?

I don’t think I would ever apply because I couldn’t handle some strange woman who eats raw meat and doesn’t flush the toilet, or use toothpaste, or someone who bathes in the same water as the rest of her family step foot into my house.

Wow after learning what you do I do not know how you do it all. I love watching Wife Swap and I know the other wife could never do your job !

I don’t think she could do your job.

She couldn’t do mine either. I run 3 blogs, work full time and my husband and I never have the same weekend. This way we don’t have to have our kids in daycare.

I think most blogger mommy’s are BUSY!

It still would be fun to be on the show. It’s just a week or two.

  3. I WATCH WIFE SWAP AND HAVE LEARNED WHAT NOT TO DO AND PRETTY MUCH TO GIVE MY MY KIDS SPACE WHEN THEY BECOME TEENAGERS…. STATISTICS SHOW THAT KIDS WHO DO DRUGS HEAVILY, BINGE DRINK, OR SMOKE IS BECAUSE THEIR PARENTS ARE TOO STRICT, CONTROLLING, AND/ OR ABUSIVE… I MIGHT COME OFF CRAZY BUT IF MY KIDS WANNA TRY DRUGS THATS FINE BUT NOTHING HARD LIKE METH CRACK OR HEROIN THE CHOICE IS THERES AND WHEN THEY HIT A CERTAIN AGE WHEN YOU HAVE TO GROW UP AND STOP DOING THAT CRAP… BEING A KID IS ABOUT CHOICES…. WIFE SWAP MAKES ME SAD SOMETIMES BUT WHEN THERES PEOPLE THAT LEARN SOMETHING IM NOT APALLED

I love Wife Swap but think it would depend on what the other mom does. Some of those people are crazy!

  5. No way! Although my house is far from spotless, I have over 14 blogs and three on-line businesses, plus seven kids to care for.

Yes, I think she could- after she adapted. I say this, because everyone has challenges in life.
Could one work , have children, run a blog, have all the regular household goings on? Could another have 2 disabled children, have no spouse, and be below the poverty line? Could yet another ‘have it all’ , not work, yet volunteer at many places and have lots of obligations? Yet for the differences in the three examples, each of them are happy in their circumstances.

I think as women we forget how easily we are able to adapt and what we are capable of if we either enjoy or get gratification out of what we are doing.

You’d be nuts to go on that show. It’s kinds fun to watch, but I think they seriously screen people to make sure they are mentally unstable before they accept them on the show. They are always so extreme.

  8. jennifer says:

I love wife swap as well! I think you have to have some kind of extreme in your life to go on the show. You sound very organized, so they would probably swap you with your complete opposite! Just keep that in mind! haha!

Since they always put opposites together, you’d probably be paired with someone who hadn’t worked a day in their whole life LOL No, they probably wouldn’t be able to handle it!

There is only one way to find out and that is to try it…. I would never be able to be on Wife Swap, but I think you would do great! Your followers would know you are away and someone else is blogging for you so don’t worry about losing any of us. Good luck with your decision!

I also would love to apply just to make my husband see how had a day can be, but would would never actually do it I would not be comfortable leaving my kids nor my job in someone elses hands.

  13. Ro says:

I love wife swap too! I hope they keep making new episodes. I personally could never apply because I wouldn’t be comfortable sharing my life or space with strangers. It would drive me crazy knowing another person is in my home lol! It is nice however that the spouses get to see all that their significant other does for them. It is easy to take it for granted and forget what a blessing someone is when they are there day in and day out. I have seen both wife and husband thank God to have their spouse back. If you try it out, let us know! I would love to see a Blogger go on this show. I have yet to see a Blogger on any episodes. I wonder who the show would pair them up with?! That’s the scary part lol!

    haha @ the last paragraph:)

I like to watch it, but it’s so obvious that they choose SUCH different families for the ratings/drama factor….I can see why you wouldn’t want to go on….Noone could do the job that you do as good as you do, ya know?
