Pregnancy Week 37
Well I am not sure how many pregnancy updates I’ll have, but with my luck miss Shelby will wait until the last minute to come! I fully expect to be pregnant for a few more weeks.
My appointment last week went great. Still n weight gain, bp is good, no swelling and Shelby was moving all over the place! I do feel like she is growing like a weed as some days I have back ache and some nights the pressure is pretty bad. But then days like today I feel great with barely any discomfort. Braxton Hicks are more frequent, and usually I get them after I have been sitting for a while and I get up and move around.
I love sitting at night and watching my belly move around. Shelby’s kicks hurt sometimes but I get a kick out of watching my belly sway back and forth as she moves from one side to the next.
Now that we are coming to the end it is bitter sweet really. I am so ready and anxious to meet her and hold her, but at the same time I will miss having her inside, and moving. I’ll miss my round belly. but…… I am excited to be able to bend over or bend down again, to walk and not waddle. But most of all I am excited to hold this little miracle and share her with her daddy and sisters!
Your Baby in Week 37 of Pregnancy
Congratulations! You’ve got what is officially considered a full-term baby, even with three weeks to go. That doesn’t mean she’s finished growing — in fact, she’s still packing on about a half pound a week (at this age, the average fetus weighs about 6.5 to 7 pounds). That makes it a little crowded in your uterus, so she’s probably not kicking as much, though she’s probably stretching, rolling a bit, and wiggling (all of which you’ll be able to feel!). Right now, your little superstar is busy rehearsing for her big debut, inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid (to get the lungs ready for that first breath), sucking her thumb (to prepare for that first suckle of milk), blinking, and turning from side to side.
Hooray for full term!! Now stay in and keep baking Miss Shelby 🙂
How exciting! She’s almost here.
Mandy, after 6 kids even I missed that feeling of having a lil’ one kick around and move. I guess it’s something most moms feel no matter how many children they have. You look so great! I kinda feel like it waiting for another grandchild or niece here…CANT WAIT TO SEE HER! wow what a rollercoaster ride you have been on…so happy for you!
Getting Close! Can’t wait to see newborn pictures of Shelby.
