Pregnancy Week 30

Seven weeks to go and then all bets are off!

I can not believe that I have hit 30 weeks! It seems like it has gone so fast yet sooooo s.l.o.w…. I have noticed a most definite bump now and I love jsut watching my stomach move around while Shelby wiggles and squirms. I am so excited to meet our new daughter in less than 2 months!

According to FF I am eight months pregnant now, although I always thought eight months started at 31 weeks to 35 weeks. I’ll take it though!

Your Baby in Week 30 of Pregnancy

Your belly’s increasing size is a definite clue that your baby is getting bigger every day, weighing in at over three pounds now (she’ll be packing on the weight at a rate of half a pound per week for the next seven weeks). Also growing daily is her brain, which is actually starting to look like the real thing with those characteristic grooves and wrinkles. And now that your little genius can regulate her own body temperature and turn up the heat, she’ll start shedding lanugo, the downy body hair that’s been keeping her warm up until now. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus.

  1. So happy the time will go so fast now for you Mandy! The holidays, then after that getting everything ready for her and WhOoooosh the time is gone! You will have her in your arms in the blink of an eye!
Have to say our family is SO lucky…little grandson came home from the NICU today after 7 weeks and making it to almost 4 1/2 pounds now. We are all amazed how fast a lil’ one can put on weight and change so much in those last weeks. Completely amazed…

  2. Congratulations on the baby. They’re such blessings. 🙂

When my sister was pregnant it seemed like I had to wait so long just to find out the sex of the baby. Then another forever just to meet her. I don’t know how I could stand waiting 40 weeks to meet my own child.

    1. Jessi, yes 9 months takes forever when everyone is so excited to meet the baby! Thank you we are very excited for baby #3!

  3. I can’t believe you can see her moving from outside your stomach now! It kills me I might be able to see that before long! I’d guess FF is counting “months” based on lunar months, where each one is 4 weeks, starting from when you conceived. Since 7*4weeks = 28weeks, that would make you 7 months! 🙂
