I was hoping that once I started feeling better that the weeks would go a little quicker. I also knew that when school and the kids activities started back up the days would fly! I guess what I’m saying is I can’t believe I’m already 17.5 weeks, and on Thursday will be starting month 5 of my pregnancy!
So week 17 ends the 4th month! The girls are getting more excited every day, and Sarah constantly kisses my belly.
The past few days I have felt a lot more flutters, and I know it’s only a matter of weeks until I feel full on kicks! I was using the doppler the other night and she started moving and kicking a lot. I guess she did not like the doppler!
At night time I am feeling better but still get nauseous every now and then. Oh, this week I welcomed my favorite friend… heartburn. UGH! I have it almost every single night and before bed I have to take a tum.
Sunday we found out our little one is another girl! three girls! Her name will be Shelby.
Your Baby in Week 17 of Pregnancy
My how your baby has grown! She’s about the size of your palm, weighs about five ounces, and is developing some body fat (join the club, baby!). Her heart is now regulated by her brain (no more random beats) to beat 140 to 150 times per minute — about twice as fast as yours! What else is up? She’s practicing the survival skills she’ll need at birth — like sucking and swallowing. Your baby’s skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. and she’s around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.
