New Year’s Eve: Party Hats

Another super simple item to make for the kids to wear on New year’s Eve! Again, I used coordinating paper to match all the   I was making for the kids.

These are super easy to make, and can be made anyway really. Your kids will love sporting around a party hat on New year’s Eve!

What you need:

  • 12 x 12 sheet of printed  or colored paper
  • Scotch tape
  • Ribbon

I Started off with the 12 x 12 sheet of paper and on one end I folded over about 1/2 an inch.

Then fold the other side of the paper over so that it is flush with the folded flap. It’s important to make sure the “pointed” end is flush together. You will have an overlap of the paper (like below) and that is ok! It’s important to have the top pointy!

Tape the folded flap down over the other end of the paper to make a cone. With the top tape make sure it hangs over so that you can roll the ti of the cone over.

Open the cone up and gently press it down like shown:

Then cute the extra paper off. It doesn’t have to be perfect but a straight line would be great.

Tape ribbon on the inside of the hat making sure they are on even sides. And your done!
