Merry Christmas 2011 – From Our Family to Yours

the angel said unto them,  “Fear not! For, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, Which shall be to all people. “For unto you is born this day in the city of David A Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, Lying in a manger.  –  Luke 2:10-12

I can not believe that another year has come and gone. While this past year was very busy for our family it was full of many blessings, struggles and triumphs.

We plan to spend the next few days with the family that is close and send our love to those far away and wish we could be with all of our family. I really miss my brother and sisters this year and wish we could all be together.

“And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth – Philippians 2:8-10

Next year we will be celebrating the Holidays as a family of five! I feel so blessed and can not wait for next year (well I can wait).

Tomorrow I hope that we are able to bake Jesus a birthday cake, and of course read the story of Baby Jesus and the real meaning of Christmas. It’s important for my kids to understand there is more to Christmas than Santa.

Hear, hear! There is indeed more to Christmas than Santa.

Every other year, I get to be with my siblings for Christmas. The other years, I’m with my wife’s siblings. We’re lucky to get to be together at all–life is so full of blessings for all of us if we’re only awake enough to see them!

Thanks for your post with its gentle reminders. Merry Christmas!

I hope you had a blessed Christmas celebration Amanda! I know at Christmas Eve service at the end when we sing Silent Night by candlelight, I always get so teary. I remember the first time, 31 years ago when pregnant with my first and only two weeks away from delivering, this song pulled at my heart so much and has ever since. And this year we have 3 new grand babies whose births we celebrate too, and one sweet little boy who got to come home from the NICU in time for his 1st Christmas celebration. Can you EVEN imagine how excited we get about OUR little one’s births? Imagine THAT excitement in every corner of Earth 2011 years ago. Quite amazing! Silent Night…Loves Pure Light.
    WOW…

Your tree is beautiful, and looks so happy with all the presents spread around it (though I’m know they’re not the reason for the season for most 🙂 Merry Belated Christmas to you!
