Madeline’s 70th Anniversary *Giveaway*
When Samantha was born my mother in law had a lot of fun going around purchasing everything Madeline for Sam. She had all the dolls, movies, felt friends, hats. If it was out there she had it. When we moved from San Diego back to Lake Arrowhead her entire Madeline collection disappeared. I still have no idea what happened to the entire box of Madeline things. Sam still remembers them and asks me all the time where her Madelines went. I don;t know if the box accidental got thrown in the trash pile during the move, or left at the old apartment. Needless to say we were all pretty devastated.
Madeline is a gutsy little girl, and that’s what makes her such a unique role model in a time when storybook princesses defined femininity for girls. Madeline gave young girls a reason to explore who they were as individuals, even if that meant being a tad disobedient. She gave girls the courage to speak their mind and showed them that there was nothing unfeminine about being smart and strong.
Madeline celebrates the 70th Anniversary! Can you believe she has been an inspiration to little girls for 70 years? I grew up loving her and watching the cute movies.
My girls love Madeline! We recently received the new 70th Anniversary Madeline Doll and Sarah can’t get enough of her. Her dress is removable, so you can buy the different outfits for her. Her shoes and socks are not removable though. Madeline comes packaged in special 70th Anniversary Gift Box.
Madeline’s newest book is MADELINE and The Cats Of Rome (which came out in Sept. 08). Miss Clavel takes the “twelve little girls in two straight lines” from cold, rainy Paris to warm, sunny Rome. On a sightseeing expedition, they pose in the street while Miss Clavel takes their picture. Suddenly, an Italian girl snatches the camera and runs. Madeline and her dog, Genevieve, give chase through the streets of Rome and make a couple of surprising discoveries before their adventure ends.

I remember so well loving reading Madeline stories as a child, then my daughter slso loved Madeline. If I would win this Madeline, I’d give it to my friends daugther who has recently been in and out of the hospital, I know she’d love it.
