*With another baby on the way I knew we needed to get a double stroller that fits our needs. I am excited to be a JoovyMom and to test out the Caboose VaryLight Graphite Stand-On Tandem Stroller.
When I found out we were expecting another baby I knew that I was going to have to find the perfect stroller for both the baby and for Shelby. Shelby will only be three when the baby is born and I know that there will be many times it will be easier to have an option for her in the stroller.
Now, deciding on the perfect stroller can be the hardest part for parents who have two little ones. You just don’t know what you need or will need in a stroller, so based on my children’s ages I knew that the Joovy Caboose VaryLight Graphite Stand-On Tandem Stroller was going to be the perfect option for us.
There were quite a few reasons why I wanted toe Joovy Caboose VaryLight Stroller. The first reason being it has an option to attach an infant car seat (you can attach it to both the front and back) and it allows for another child to sit or stand! The stroller also allows you to use it just like a single stroller with a “short” frame. (I’ll explain more)
The concept behind the VaryLight is the term variable – an adjective that describes changeability. There has never been a tandem stroller that expands and contracts the way the VaryLight does to meet your family needs. With various riding configurations, it’s like having several strollers in one!
Setting up the stroller is extremely easy. I was able to do it in only a few minutes (while pregnant.)
I will admit it took me a few minutes to figure out how to open and close the stroller. I think with more practice I will will be able to open and close it more quickly than I did right away.
When opened the stroller is ready to go! Parents will love that the child in front has a child’s tray and both seats have seat belts! The VaryLight features Joovy’s new buckle system for securing children comfortably into the seats with a 5-point harness in the front and a 3-point harness in the rear. A swing-away tray that can be attached in either front or back to hold snacks and drinks, and an oversized canopy with sun visor extension provides extra protection.
Also, right away you will notice that the basket in back has an option to move up and down to allow for the child in back to be comfortable.
Shelby who is two and a half and about 33 inches tall fits very comfortably in the front seat with tons of room to grow. With only her right now the Caboose VaryLight works perfect as a single stroller.
Now, I mentioned that the Caboose VaryLight allows you to add an infant car seat. The adapters are sold separably and are designed for certain car seats. The Infant Seat can be attached to both the front or back of the stroller.
The Caboose VaryLight Graphite includes a unique telescopic frame that expands the stroller from a single to a full-size double in seconds. In it’s compact position (43.5 inches long), the Caboose VaryLight can be used as a standard single stroller or with a newborn in an infant car seat. In this compact mode, there is still enough room for an older child to stand on the rear platform.
When the new baby is born we actually plan to use the long frame option with the infant car seat in back for Shelby to ride in front. But what I love is that if we find this way not working for us Shelby has the option to sit or stand in the back. She still has a seat belt and the versatility of moving the infant car seat to front or back is an added bonus.
Parents will also like that it offers quick-release wheels make it easy to take off the wheels for storage. With a one-hand fold, the stroller can fold up easily in the single or extended position.
The real beauty of the Caboose VaryLight Graphite is not just in the modern frame and contemporary styling, but rather that in a matter of seconds, parents can change the seat configurations to accommodate the needs of their family.
Seriously, so many configurations that every family will find the perfect one for them!!!
