It’s Car Week! #CarWeekLA

We just purchased our Toyota Camry back in December. We really needed to get a bigger sedan that was still great on gas so my husband thought the Camry would be a great car for me to have over my current Corolla. I am actually NOT a fan of car shopping. When my husband and I start talking about cars he literally points to every car we see driving and asks me “what do you think of that car?” Or if we are home he will sit on the computer and browse cars. And of course that means every 20 minutes or so he is calling me to look at them.

With the Camry we actually called the dealership ahead of time and told them to find cars that fit our criteria that way when we got there all we had to do is test drive them and pick which one we liked best. Of course we still spent over FIVE hours in the dealership.

Just yesterday we stopped off at Toyota to pick up brochures on the Highlander and possibly trading in the Truck for one. Of course I am already stressing about sitting in a dealer for hours and negotiating and haggling.

Thankfully Edmunds has the cure for stressful car shopping, and will be showing it off during its Car Week event, June 9-15.

Car Week will connect shoppers in the Los Angeles and New York metro areas to hundreds of local dealers that are offering prices at or below Edmunds.com’s True Market Value®, representing savings that are, on average, thousands of dollars off sticker price.

Look at the info-graphic below… car shoppers really DO hate car shopping!

Participating dealers will offer no-haggle, up-front pricing on all new car inventory through Edmunds Price PromiseSM, and will feature other offers that best meet the needs of their customers. More details are at Edmunds.com’s Car Week page.
This is a great opportunity to get into that car you want without the haggle and stress of car shopping!!!

That sure sounds like an easy way to buy a new car. They need to do something like this in Boston!

  2. Brandy M. says:

What a dream this would be! We recently purchased a new vehicle and it took us 8 hours! 8 hours can you believe that? We walked in knowing exactly which one we wanted so it was not even spent checking out vehicles it was the haggling and paperwork.

This sounds like a great way to buy a new car. When I purchased my Honda years ago, I went through the car buying service at my credit union and it took all the haggling out of it. It was such a nice way to buy a car.

  4. This sounds amazing and a great way to get a new car. I wish they would do this in our neck of the woods.

  5. Pam says:

This sounds like such a great and easy way to buy a car! I hate haggling, like most people.

  6. Ann Bacciaglia says:

Great infographic. Car shopping can be stressful especially when family members all want different cars.

  7. Buying a car is such a daunting task, I dread it! Maybe it’s the pushy sales people. This definitely sounds like a nice alternative.

  8. Amy Desrosiers says:

I am going to be in the auto market for a minivan soon. We have sedans now, but are quickly outgrowing them!

  9. Dawn Lopez says:

I have no experiences with buying cars so I can’t really put my two cents in but from what I’ve heard not many people enjoy going to a dealership!

  10. My husband was in the dealership for 8 HOURS for our last car. OMG… I was there for like 3 of them and wanted to flip out!!

  11. kristin says:

That’s a great way to shop around for a new car!

  12. I agree! Car shopping can be annoying. We did it last year and if I’m lucky, I want have to do it for many more years. I do like the idea of car week. That’s awesome. My dad’s in the market for a car so I’ll let him know! 🙂

  13. Racquel says:

This sounds like a great experience for you! Buying a new car with a family is a challenging experience and anything to make it easier would be great!

  14. Brett Martin says:

I hate car shopping too! Interesting facts!

That sounds really simple!! I wonder if they have this in Vegas too!

  16. tammileetips says:

I hate car shopping as well its so stressful. I agree with calling ahead to dealerships before going makes it easier and less of a chance to being pushed into a car by a salesman

  17. Janice says:

I hate buying cars lol! Great infographic!

  18. Liz Mays says:

I TOTALLY dread buying a new car and it’s all because of the back and forth with the price. Ugh! This is a great way to go.

  19. Ug..I generally dislike car shopping, and most of that dislike is due to the buying process. This sort of program really appeals to me.

  20. I both love and hate car shopping, I always feel like I’m not ‘told it all’ by dealers. But, I do love to test drive and see all ‘the new’, there’s nothing like that new car smell!

  21. I despise car shopping. We switched to a dealer with no haggle pricing about 10 years ago and have never lookes back.

  22. The last time I bought a new car I was at the dealership for hours too! I love this idea.
