Holiday 2011: Babiators

When compared to adult’s eyes, children’s eyes have fewer natural protections against UV exposure, making them more likely to be damaged. Babiators protect your child’s eyes at a critical time – Babiators’ lenses offer 100% protection from UVA and UVB rays.

Babiators are made without BPA, without phthalates, and without lead-based paint – we know because we test every shipment to make sure!  So when you buy Babiators, you can rest assured that you are buying the safest sunglasses out there for your little one!

Features:

  • Lenses: Acrylic lenses offer 100% UVA and UVB protection, and per FDA requirements, are impact and shatter resistant.
  • Frame:  Flexible rubber frame doesn’t break, and is 100% BPA-free. Frame meets or exceeds CPSIA safety standards for children’s products.
  • Fit:  Junior Babiators fit most children ages 9 months through 3 years. However, fit will vary by child, depending on your child’s head size.

I have heard of these and am SO applauding them! I used to work in eyecare and had no idea what damage UV does to your eyes…at ANY age. Tiny children dont have the natural defensive response to light we do by shielding the sun, or even squinting. UV damage does seem to increase the chance for early cataracts, and even cancers of the eye. It is SO important to get some shades on our kids early, so they know it is simply part of their norm…like wearing clothes, brushing teeth, etc. CUTE shades too!
