Yay it is finally April! We get to start seeing warmer weather and the kids aren’t cooped up in the house all day!!! This also means that the kids will be outside more, getting messy, playing with other kids and bringing in the germs!
While the kids are out playing I take that time to really de-clutter the house and do some “spring cleaning”. I also stock up on new cleaning supplies and LYSOL Products to help keep the home clean and the family from getting sick.
LYSOL challenges us to rethink traditional cleaning with a new concept of Healthing.
This initiative aims to introduce families to the Healthing lifestyle, which focuses on shifting how we look at cleaning by taking a more conscious approach. Centered on keeping families as healthy as possible, Healthing urges us to look beyond just cleaning and promotes small changes throughout our hygiene and cleaning routines.
I love the idea of Healthing! It has a really neat Guidebook and excellent ideas on living healthying. Our allergies are kicking in so I was glad to see the section on Allergens and Allergies. There was tons of ideas on reducing Allergens in the home and preventing them as well.
A few tips I found useful were:
Control your indoor air:
- Keep the temperatures of between 68 and 72 °F
- Aim for low humidity (between 40 and 50%)
- Don’t use a humidifier unless your child has croup (a swelling around vocal cords that is common among children). Moisture from humidifiers can increase dust mites and mold.
To help spread the word about Healthing, LYSOL and television personality Giuliana Rancic have partnered together to visit YMCAs in select markets across the country to demonstrate Healthing in action. At each YMCA location, LYSOL will provide attendees with hands-on education about the products and steps required to practice improved hygiene habits in their own home, while making the idea fun and relatable to kids. LYSOL will also provide educational information and disinfecting products to the local YMCAs, along with the donation of a one-year membership to a deserving family.
You can find LYSOL on Facebook.
