Grammys Hair with Suave!

From the red carpet to the award ceremony, The Grammy’s were all about star-studded performances — and, of course, lots of style. We may not all have Grammy-worthy vocals, but we can certainly achieve Hollywood hair at home, based on some of tonight’s winning looks!

While you sing along to your favorite tunes at home, you can also re-create some of the hottest hairstyles from Grammy’s night with the help of Suave Celebrity Hairstylist Luke O’Connor. Top stylists were recently surprised by Suave’s Professionals’ performance  – the products are salon-proven to work as well as salon brands. So try them out for yourself and follow these steps to re-create gorgeous Grammy looks!

The Look:  Long Glamour Waves
Jennifer Lopez embodied vintage Hollywood at its best. Her soft, sultry waves completed the look bringing a casual elegance to her stroll down the red carpet.

•      To re-create at home:
Shampoo and condition hair with the Suave Professionals Healthy Curls line. Apply Suave Professionals Healthy Curls Styling Foam, part hair down the middle and blow dry the mousse completely into the hair on a medium to low setting. Starting six inches from the roots, spiral wrap two inch sections of hair around a 1.5 inch curling iron to get glam curls. Soften hair with fingers.

The Look:  The Dressed-Up Wave
Colbie Caillat took her waves to a new level – literally!  A fun look that gives the best of both worlds, Colbie wore her hair half up to pull some tresses off her face.

•      To re-create at home:
Use Suave Professionals Humectant Shampoo and Conditioner in the shower to moisturize and soften hair.  Apply Suave Professionals Healthy Curls Styling Foam and blow dry completely into the hair. Follow the same steps as above to create curls all around the head, or to prep the night before, skip the curling iron and just twist the mousse into the hair in two inch sections. Take the section of the hair between the middle of each eyebrow, pull back to the crown and secure with a small plastic jaw clamp. You can conceal the jaw clamp by burying it into the hair and pulling a few loose pieces of hair over the clip. Apply Suave Professionals Volumizing Finishing Hairspray to keep hair in place all night.

The Look: Chic Chignon
Taylor Swift made a classic statement on the red carpet.  It’s easy to achieve this modern take on the Hollywood tradition that shined tonight.

•      To re-create at home:
For smooth and frizz-free locks, prep hair with Suave Professionals Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner. Next, give hair body and control by applying Suave Professionals Extra Hold Styling Foam to damp hair. Blow dry the mousse into the hair in sections using a medium round brush to lock in volume. Unpin hair at the crown and blow dry in 1 inch sections using the round brush. Next, take two inch sections of hair and spiral wrap around a 1 inch curling iron to curl the large sections of hair. Finally, make a high side part at the center of the eyebrow and gather hair into a pony tail on the opposite side of the part. Loosely twist down to create a low chignon off to the side.  Secure with pins and let loose pieces fall naturally for a look that’s effortlessly chic. Finish with Suave Professionals Extra Hold Hairspray to lock the style in place.

Last summer while at BlogHer 09 I had the chance to get my hair done by Luke O’Conner (assistant), yeah OK Tanya was getting hers done at the exact same time by Luke so I had mine done by his assistant. Needless to say it looked great!  It was fun and I can’t wait for my Suave House Party this FRIDAY!!! I’ll be showing our hairstylist these pics. Can’t wait!

I love the looks…I wear my hair really short just because it is easy to take care of that way but these hair styles are wonderful
