End of Summer Traveling: Fun for the Whole Family

With summer coming to a close families are thinking of either last minute vacations or heading out on a vacation before school starts. Summer vacations are a blast for the entire family.

We have spent the last five months planning our big family vacation from California to Texas. We wanted to have a nice vacation where we took our kids to see eleven different states and saw some amazing sights!

Some of the places we stopped at were The Grand Canyon, Four Corners, Mount Rushmore, and lots of National Parks throughout the states we visited. We also stopped to see state Capitol’s and other historical land marks.

We truly had one amazing trip! We opted to camp so we mapped out things we wanted to see and do, and then found campsites to stay at.  what I loved about camping is the binding we had as a family, plus some campsites are going to be a lot less expensive than a hotel.

Most of the historical land marks we visited had small entry fees and I think everyone in the states should visit these amazing sights.

Prices Include (may change)

  • Grand Canyon Visiting Cost: 25 dollars a vehicle. Each pass is good for 7 days
  • Four Corners Visiting Costs: 3 dollars per person. Babies are free
  • Mount Rushmore Visiting Costs: 12 dollars for parking. Each parking pass is good for the rest of the year

If you are short on time for a vacation look into what your local area has to offer. Your community might even have some amazing things to see! What I love is that most American destinations have natural and/or historical fact value. In which kids benefit from an educational stand point.

You can also find camping in your area for a great way to camp and still see what your area has to offer.

Did you go on a family vacation? If so what did you do?
