Eco Stars Recycled Crayons

NYC preschool teacher Brittany Shapiro (Miss Brittany ), and founder of Miss Brittany ’s Organic Preschool, is on a mission to keep her classroom (and preschoolers) clean and green. In honor of Earth Day and after seeing the amount of crayons thrown out in her classroom after only a few uses, Miss Brittany has teamed up with The Crayon Recycle Program, which has made it possible to stop more than 52,000 pounds of unwanted crayons from ending up in our landfills. Miss Brittany ’s Organic Preschool has launched a line called Eco Stars, a collection of recycled crayons in partnership with the organization.

Each box of Eco Stars contains 20 star shaped, solid colored crayons made from 100% recycled and recyclable crayons and retails for $8.95 on Eco Stars are made in the USA and are nontoxic. The packaging is also made from 100% recycled materials, making Eco Stars a truly eco-friendly item for kids.

When I first saw the stars I knew they would be something Sarah would love. She loves to color and sometimes the dull ends of crayons are hard to use. I noticed that using the edges of the star points makes it super easy to color in the lines. The best part of the Eco Stars is that they are non-toxic and are recycled! The price is a little high but well worth it for what you get.

oh and if the 2 year old starts to chew on an Eco Star you don’t have to be worried about him getting sick from them. (always a plus)

New Limited Edition Earth Dough Fun Packs are also available this month, containing two 7oz containers of Earth Dough: blue, green, and natural Organic Fun Dough swirled together to look like a globe. As always, Organic Fun Dough is handmade in the USA from the highest quality, organic and all-natural ingredients. The Limited Edition Earth Dough Fun Packs retail for $15.95.
