Do you ever look at someone and wonder what’s going on inside their head? Disney-Pixar’s “Inside Out” takes an exciting and hilarious journey into the mind to find the answer. Based in Headquarters, the control center of 11-year-old Riley’s mind, five emotions are hard at work, led by lighthearted optimist Joy. She strives to make sure Riley stays happy as she operates alongside fellow emotions Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness.
This was a movie my entire family couldn’t wait to watch, we all were so excited to see it on Blu-Ray since we did not have the chance to see it in theater.
From the time the movie started everyone loved seeing the feelings and how they handled each other. The story of Joy and Sadness not being in the headquarters and the other emotions take over Riley it is shown in the end how Sadness is the key into helping Riley.
I think the younger viewers will love learning about our feelings and how it’s ok to be sad or angry as long as we can turn to someone for help.
Also included in the movie is this cute short film Riley’s First Date.
we also have some fun activity sheets for your family and readers to engage in over the weekend while they watch the film that has been termed, “one of the best movies of the year.”
Here is a behind-the-scenes bonus clip of designing Sadness; one of the characters who stole many hearts in this film.
