Wordless Wednesday: Cousins

This was taken 2 years ago (I can’t believe it’s been 2 years!!!). Kristin (my sister) and I were both invited to Hallmark Headquarters in Kansas City MO.

Kaila and Sarah look like babies (they were 3) Samantha was 6.

Weightloss Challenge: 90 Days

While I’m not sure what a realistic goal is for 90 days, but I’d say somewhere between 20-30 lbs would be great! As long as I see a change happening then I’ll be happy.

While today is actually day 3 of the challenge for me, I am going to start on March 30th and on June 30th we will see what I have accomplished so far. As of right now fitday says to loose 30 lbs in 90 days you have to loose 2.5 lbs a week, which may not seem like a whole lot but some weeks it can be.

What is even greater is my husband is doing the same challenge with me and he is doing great. He is keeping track of his calorie intake, and I am making dinners. I am keeping the dinners to no extra salts or oils and lots of veggies! We both are keeping track of our calorie intake/sugar and salt intake as well.  I work 3 days a week and am walking for 2 hours straight. I plan to do my pedometer tomorrow to see just how much walking I do in a day. I also run at least a mile a day.

You might remember one of my previous posts in January about loosing 30 lbs to get pregnant. January I did great with loosing weight and then February hit and I stopped, I kept saying “tomorrow I’ll start again”. I look  at my exercise calendar for February…  6 days!!! That’s it! March wasn’t any better with only 10 days or so. Isn’t that ridiculous? So, we have two days left in March, so Marc h is going out with a bang for me and April is going to be awesome!

Saturday we are going to Disneyland so I know I’ll have plenty of walking, just have to eat salads at the park though!

My little sister is doing the same challenge and who encouraged me to join in. Her weight loss to date has been awesome, I haven’t seen her in 3 months but I can say I have seen her both in August when she first started, October after 2 months and then in December after another 2 months and she has done great!

Every 10 days we check in on a scale weigh in and share or results.

I KNOW I can do this, with the constant encouragement of my sister and hubby, and sticking with my routine and no cheating I know I can do what I have set in front of me. Plus, if I start to falter, I can always start using Sensa again!

Are you doing any chalenges from March to June? Join in with us!

Wordless Wednesday: My love

This was taken last month at Pat’s cousin’s baby’s 1st birthday party (did you get all that?) We had to spend the entire weekend down the hill because of the snow storms in Lake Arrowhead and silly me forgot to pack my jeans! I had to wear yoga pants all weekend!

I love pictures of my and my love, they make me smile every time I see them.

Wordless Wednesday: Ready for Summer

Yes… I am ready for summer, I am ready to be out in the sun and the pools.. and beach… but this summer we move!

Sarah at GG’s house- Summer 2009

(oh and look you can see Samantha’s head in the water…. love how my kids wear bows swimming?)

and after tonight I find out if it’s 99% we are going to Austin Texas!

Leprechaun Traps

Sarah has a project in school to make a Leprechaun Trap. We went off the same design we did for Samantha and came up with this.

Basically the Leprechaun follows the gold path up the ladder to the gold, and when he reaches the gold he falls inside the trap! And to add Sarah’s touch we put pink flowers all over it!

Tiny Talk

Sarah had a spot on her face, and she asked me where it was. So I touched it and said “there” she replies” but I don’t feel it when I pet my face”

I never understood how people had blankets that meant a lot to them. To me it’s a blanket, if it gets dirty, or had holes you would throw it away and get a new one…

But not if it’s a Blankie

Every time I see these two little blankets I have to stop and reflect on how crazy the past 8 years have been. We have lived in so many different towns, seen some pretty amazing things. Watched our babies grow into amazing little people, and yet we still have so much more amazing memories to make.

I just hope these two will be there to see it all too…

This picture cracks me up, every single morning the girls bring these downstairs with them and wrap themselves in their Blankies until it’s time to leave. (If I go look right now I will bet that Sarah has hers fairly close to her). When the girls were younger (well around the age of 2-3) I would have to fight to wash them, they would smell and be so dirty but I think for a little kid they are scared their blankie will get hurt in the washing machine, or the blankie will get scared of being a lone.

So soft and cuddly
Just like a kitten
You catch me as I fall asleep, off to dreamland
You keep the nightmares and darkness away
All I have to is say,
You are my blankie!
You keep out the cold winter chills
So sweet and caring, knowing how I feel
Now I wrap my arms around you
Giving you a gentle hug
For you are my blankie
In which I love!

Do your kids have a Blankie they can’t live without?

Will You Take The Pledge?

BWS tips button
I saw the new campaign that Elizabeth Flora Ross has started called The Mom Pledge.

The Mom Pledge is about bloggers standing up, speaking out, and coming together to eradicate online bullying of moms by other moms. The time has come for us to take the power back and own this issue.

I have been one of those people who sat back while others were bullied and not stand up for them or step in to try and say enough was enough. I know I should have said something, I should have stood up for those we were being bullied.

I am taking the pledge, I will not tolerate anyone bullying one another. I will not let my friends be hurt by words, and other mean things.

It is time for MOMS to start acting like MOTHERS and what exactly are you teaching your child(ren)? It’s OK to bully others? It’s OK to make someone feel like crap? I don’t think so. In fact I think it’s sad that other moms think this behavior is ok. To sit and poke fun of other people, to go after companies that other bloggers work with and tell them not to work with them and for what? To sit on facebook and twitter making fun of other mom bloggers.. it’s sick and these people need to grow up.

Ive lost friendships over online bullying but I also can not justify being friends with people who think this behavior is ok either. I have to stand up, for myself and most importantly for my children.

I am taking the pledge and I urge you to as well.

How Do You Say That? California

I was on Facebook and saw Cat from 3 Kids and Us and Jennifer from Mom Spotted doing this fun vlog meme. When I clicked on Cat’s I saw a few of my other blog friends, and my sister did it too so I figured, why not?

I was laughing at how different everyone says certain words and love it! So below is mine, and sorry I didn’t feel good today and I am extremely tired.

Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught

What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped
body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry
groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?

New: Fabric Flower Headband

So I had this urge to make a fabric flower headband. This is how it came out

Wordless Wednesday: Girlies

Sarah’s Kindergarten Work on Space

When I read this of course I said “awww” but it doesn’t surprise me one bit. Sissy can not go a day without her mama. She is my little shadow and has to always be touching me.

And for those of you who can’t read Kindergarten writing it says :

“If I were in outerspace I would want to go home.”
