The cutest Dutch girls ever!

Today was Thinking Day for Samantha and her Girl Scout Daisy troop. Each girl dressed up as Dutch girls, and they even learned the cutest song to sing. I ended up missing the song because I HAD to get home. I had to get Sarah home, she was such a handful.

But before I left I was able to snap a few pictures.

Send Me to BlogHer!

If you would like to have a professional, creative, dependable, and dynamic spokesperson represent and promote your company at BlogHer ‘09, you have come to the right place!

I would LOVE to represent you!

When I started blogging I quickly become friends with many girls who were also bloggers. I loved meeting new moms and reading their blogs. I quickly learned that I was not the only one who had a infant who nursed 24/7 or a three year old who liked to walk out of the house and down the street. Later on, I found other moms who had four year olds who would strip naked and go to the neighbors house.

I met many stay at home moms just like me, and were looking for friends to chat to during the day, and pretty much whenever Hubby was gone!

I have had so much fun making friends over the past two years with everyone! So last year when I heard about the BlogHer conference I wanted to go! But I knew we couldn’t afford it.

This year, I want to go! Plain and simple, I NEED to go to BlogHer 09! I want to be able to meet these amazing women I have known for over two years! That is one of the main reasons to go to BlogHer.

But second I want to go to BlogHer because of the companies I work with! I want to learn all aspects of Social Media and how to bring he best that I can to my blogging!

So, I have come to the conclusion that if I would like to go to BlogHer I am going to have to pay for it, and well it will cost me a lot of moeny, from the conference fee, to the round trip plane ticket and lodging up in Chicago, yea it will cost me close to 1,000 dollars. Well, I don’t even have 1,000 dollars just laying around.

So I am asking you my blogging friends! Help me go to BlogHer! Please send me to BlogHer 09. Not only will I be grateful but I am planning something BIG for everyone who helps me get to BlogHer 2009.

All I am asking is one dollar, I am hoping that if I can get 1,000 people to donate one dollar that it will send me to BlogHer!

___________________________________________________________________

I am looking for a few terrific companies who would like me to represent them at the BlogHer ‘09 Conference in July. For $100 you will get my dynamic and outgoing representation at BlogHer ‘09.

So what does a partial sponsorship like this get you? I will:

1. Free ad placement in a special BlogHer Sponsors section in my sidebar for the remainder of 2009.

2. Hand out any business cards or other promotional material that you would like . I am currently putting together awesome swag bags that your product can go into. I will be connecting with a ton of people so that means your business cards will be placed in a ton of hands!

3. Network on your behalf, talking about your product/services. If you have product you would like demonstrated at BlogHer, I can defiantely do so.

4. Blog posts about your company prior to the conference.

5. I will live tweet updates from BlogHer. Which will include links to your company in all posts written while traveling to, during, and in a post-conference wrap up.

6. Happily discuss my wearing your product or logo as a promotional tool.

If you would like me to promote your business in another way other than the ways discussed I would be more than willing to discuss it with you via email or phone. I am very open to ideas so do not hesitate to ask…I may just say yes!

Thank you for considering a sponsorship for me to the 2009 BlogHer conference!

I am so excited!!

Today I received a fantastic invitation to a wonderful Blogger Event in April! I can not wait to go and meet some of the amazing women I work with on a daily basis!

more details coming soon!!

UPDATE- about the teacher talking about my Sam

This is an update in regards to my post yesterday, What to do when you over hear a teacher talking CRAP about your child?

After talking to Sam’s teacher she told me that in the best interest of my child to speak with the principle.

And I did, I am very glad I talked to her and she told me that I am not the first parent this week to overhear a teacher talking about students.

So she will be tlaking to the teacher tomorrow or Friday, and letting her know that it is unacceptable to talk about students in public and especially in front of parents and students.

She also said she wants me to talk to the teacher as well, jsut to let her know that my feelings were hurt and that if Sam knew her feelings would be hurt too.

anyways, thought I would share an update.

Wordless Wednesday

She wanted to take the test too…

OK, seriously is this not the cutest thing ever? The class was taking a test today and Sarah wanted to take it too.

What is funny is she got a question right! LOL. No really she did. One question was “Which picture is raining”?

oh and I asked her to write her name at the top of her paper, and she drew about five circles. LOL, she is such a doll!

Pediped Spring 2009

pediped Flex will celebrate its first birthday this month. The occasion will be recognized on Feb 18th with the launch of its 2nd Spring collection. Flex was introduced in February 2008 in response to overwhelming consumer requests for larger sized shoes from the footwear company. With an initial offering of twelve styles across both boys and girls the line has grown to over forty designs.

The new collection become available February 18th.

We received the new shoe called Annie. They are adorable, and Sarah can’t wait to wear them!

Norton Online Family

When we were kids, the only technology we relied on to play with friends included cans and sticks. Reports for school always involved a trip to the library, and going to the movie theater on a Sunday was the height of entertainment.

Our kids, of course, interact with technology on a different level, using computers and the Internet for everything from talking with new friends living halfway across the world, to playing their favorite online games and researching subjects for homework.

As parents, we often find it difficult to allow our kids complete freedom on the Internet. We understand it holds very real dangers, but we recognize that we can’t protect them 100%.

To help families facing this dilemma, Norton, a trusted provider of Internet safety products, has developed Norton Online Family. Unlike most products that simply block or monitor kids’ Internet activities, Norton Online Family is an online service that connects parents to kids’ online lives.

Key Norton Online Family features include:

  • Simple, One-Time Set Up: Create an account online and customize each family member’s profile based on age and maturity level.
  • Easy to Use and Access: Check a child’s activity or modify a child’s profile, preferences, or time allotment anytime and anywhere using any Internet-connected device.
  • Clear Reporting: All activities are reported in chronological order and only show the Web sites a child intended to visit – eliminating all the extra URLs, like ads, from Web sites.
  • Helpful Search Insight: Easily view what words and phrases a child uses to search and where those searches lead online.
  • Convenient Web Site Control: Control the Web content that flows into the home by prohibiting more than 40 topic categories.
  • Secured Personal Information: Track, report and prevent personal information that a child may purposely or accidentally try to send via e-mail, IM or social networking site.
  • Access to Social Network Information: Monitor activity on social networks like Facebook and MySpace with the ability to see how kids represent themselves, when they login and how often.
  • Real-time Messaging: Built-in messaging allows parents to have real-time discussions with children about activities and better understand their intentions when visiting a Web site.
  • True Transparency: Children are able to view the “house rules” they established with parents at any time and are notified when Norton Online Family is active, so there is no “stealth” mode.
  • Custom Alerts: Parents can customize e-mail alerts to address urgent events so they know immediately when a child has reached a time limit or visited a blocked site, etc.
  • Useful Time Management: An easy-to-use time management feature that – if parents find it necessary – gives each child a “curfew” that will limit computer usage

What to do when you over hear a teacher talking CRAP about your child?

Yes, that is exactly what happened to me today! I know that Samantha is very active and is a social butterfly. But she is not mean, she doesn’t push, hit or say mean things to other kids. The ONLY problem I have had with her at school is that she can be disrespectful to adults. No, she doesn’t say mean things to them, but rather just ignores them. That is the easiest way to put it. She ignores them. They ask her to do something and she will stare at them.

Well this happened today, her teacher, Mrs. Acuna had to leave for about an hour to do SST testings with other teachers on a few of her students. So there was a sub. Now my MIL has a pretty active class and about half of them are hard to handle. So when the sub came in the class pretty much fell apart. Kids were crawling under the table, none of them were doing their work anymore. I was trying to do running record with the kids but had to stop to basically take control of the class! The sub didn’t do ANYTHING! Um hello!! I am NOT the teacher! I was reading with kids to see what level they were at. (which BTW they are all doing fabulous)

Anyways, I pulled about five kids out from under the tables, sat another few down with their work. In all of this Sam was doing her work, and when she was done she went to get a book.

ONE TIME.. YES ONE TIME Sam started to run around on the colored carpet. ONCE!!! and that ONE time the sub saw her and was all over her about not listening, and yada yada.

So Mrs. Acuna (Sam’s teacher) comes back after one of the SST and the sub says ” your class fell apart and Sam is a handful isn’t she?”

Barb just brushed it off like no big deal. and she left to do her second SST. We took the kids to lunch. Sam sat down with her lunch and was chatting with one of her friends. I was standing above her and helping some of the other girls. Sam was being good, eating her lunch sitting there, and talking to her friends. Like ALL 6 year olds do!

So I am standing about halfway down the table, and the sub is at one end. Another Kindergarten teacher comes up and points to Samantha and then starts talking trash about her. UMMMM HELLO I AM STANDING RIGHT THERE!!

I really had no idea what to do, the other teacher was pointing at my daughter, and talking about her. I hear every few words “ohh she is a handful…. she gets her way….. high maintenance… doesn’t listen….” well according to the sub (yes I did tell Mrs. Acuna (teacher) and she went to the lady in charge of the subs and told her what happened and that overheard them.) Well according to her the other teacher started it and wouldn’t stop. She said that she even told her I was standing there and the teacher said “so”

“SO”???? are you for real lady????… WTF????? I seriously wanted to go over and knock the woman out! She has been so mean and nasty all year to both of my girls, and to my MIL. not to mention my friends. oh yes I have overheard her tlaking trash about other students! my friends kids!

anyways, so tomorrow I am making an appointment to speak with the Principle. This woman needs to be stopped. She is a mean woman!

What would you do if you were me? Did this happen to you or someone you know, and how did they handle it? Thanks!

My favorite was always the pack ‘n play. Every baby shower I go to, it’s the first thing I look for on the registry list to see if it’s available. The pack n’ play made my first year as a new mom so much easier. I was able to roll it from room to room, use it as a bassinet, a changing table and as she got older, a play yard. Great product!
