Baby Month: Naturepedic Baby Mattress

Naturepedic specializes in organic baby and children’s mattresses. In particular, a more natural and organic baby crib mattress is the first step toward a healthy crib environment for your baby. Crib safety goes beyond wood and bolts. It requires a non-toxic crib mattress as well.

The Naturepedic Organic Cotton Lightweight Classic will provide a more natural, healthy and comfortable place for baby to sleep. The lightweight version will make it easier to lift up the mattress for sheet changes. It provides a waterproof surface made from pure food-grade polyethylene. The mattress utilizes their Wavesupport technology that achieves incredible strength with very little material.

The ultra lightweight design is firm and comfortable. It offers a safe hypoallergenic design that is free from harmful chemicals. It provides a dust mite/bed bug barrier and contains no vinyl/pvc, phthalates, antimony, brominated, chlorinated fire retardants, Polyacrylonitrile (PAN), boric acid, polyurethane foam, PFCs or antibacterial/biocide treatments. Same firmness on both sides of mattress.

Who wouldn’t want their baby sleeping on the most natural and dye free mattress out there? The fact that the Naturepedic Organic Cotton Lightweight Classic is hypoallergenic and chemical free is a calming feeling, to know your baby will be safe while he sleeps and comfortable.  I love the light design of the mattress which makes it easy to lift in and out of the crib.

I have read a lot about this Amanda…and it is scary to think it has taken so long to find products that are toxic free for a child’s sleeping area, especially when babies spend SO much time sleeping. I like that this is SO lightweight too…as it really is cumbersome and heavy to change crib sheets! thanks much! We have a “surprise” little one coming and are really scrambling to find some safe baby items.

If you have allergies or have kids who have allergies a hypoallergenic or organic mattress is the way to go. I found a website that has a wide variety of these types of mattresses. Check it out at

When it comes to the baby stuffs, we are parents must choose carefully. Especially mattress, because our baby will spend her/his a lot of time of sleeping. So, if we choose toxic free for mattress, it’ll guarantee our child healthy.
