For the past few years I have been joining in on the lovely ladies Ultimate Blog Party. In fact I was one of the design finalists back in 2008. (Yeah I don’t know what I was thinking with that design). I have loved 5 Minutes For Mom since the first time I came to their site (4 years ago). The “Twins” as they are referred to a lot have inspired me in so many ways.
For those of you who don’t know me, I am Amanda and I live in Southern California. I have been blogging since 2004 and publicly blogging since the fall of 2006.
I met my Husband when I was 17 and a Junior in High School. We instantly became friends and spent as much time together as we could. We would go out in the evenings and get coffee and just talk. Some nights we would stay up to 3AM with my Aunt looking at photo albums and chatting away. We had been friends for about 6 months or so when I told him at the “doubled arrow sign” that I was falling in love with him. See, that “double arrow sign”? To us it meant that our paths could go either way, but that night (Dec. 15th) we wanted our paths to go together. It wasn’t even a year later when we stopped at the same sign. I myself was completely confused as he got out of the car and stood in front of it. Me motioned for me to follow him and I did. Once I was with him he looked at me and said “This is where you game me your heart, and this is where I give you mine” and sad those words ever girl can’t wait to hear “Will you marry me?”
Since that day we have had many ups and downs, but our paths are strong and we know it goes side by side. He is my everything. “I believe we can be extraordinary together rather than ordinary apart” Can you guess where that line came from?
My oldest daughter was born January 10th, 2003 and the moment I saw her tiny little face I was in love and knew that this was the path God had in store for me… motherhood…. the most most amazing gift God could ever give a woman, being a mother. Samantha is a very charming and bright 7 year old. She is not afraid to tell you how she sees it nor to speak her mind. Although it does get her into trouble. She is a smart little girl who loves school, as long as she can do it at her own pace. She would rather socialize then do math, but put a book in front of her and she read…read…read… Sam is so strong willed she refuses to wait for anyone. If she wants to learn something she’d rather figure it out on her own. Like riding a bike. She saw her 9 year old cousin’s bike and she jumped on it and took off. Leaving me and Grandma with our jaws dropping. We like to call her our Sassy Sam or Spitfire Sam. She currently takes ballet, Jazz, Piano and is in Girl Scouts.
SarahB was born November 30th, 2005. Sarah is my calm, cuddling child. She would rather sit and play with her dolls then get dirty (unlike Sam). Sarah starts kindergarten this fall and she is so excited to go to school. Unlike her sister she is more laid back and doesn’t feel like she needs to know everything NOW! She takes it one step at a time and enjoys smelling the roses. When you first meet her she comes off very shy but watch out she will soon talk your ear off. She loves school and art is her favorite subject. She loves to color, draw pictures, cut and glue. She is very creative and will make “masterpieces” for you. (Sam is opposite and wants everything to be perfect). Sarah is not afraid if her art isn’t perfect, but art can never be perfect. It’s our own interpretation. and that is how Sarah sees life. She currently takes Ballet and loves every minute of it!
Through it all the Lord is there with me. He is my light, my savior, my everything.
You are my strength when I am weak
You are the treasure that I seek
You are my all in all
When I fall down You pick me up
When I run dry You fill my cup
You are my all in all
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
